EDGEWATER, MD (January 23, 2018) – Finding a lost or rescued pet is set to become a lot easier following the launch of the new platform, PetParentsPlace.com.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), every year approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter into U.S. animal shelters. Of that number nearly 3.2 million are adopted each year. And 710,000 are returned to their owners. And when it comes to lost pets, The American Humane Association estimates that over 10 million dogs and cats are lost and stolen in the U.S. every year.

Pet Parents’ Place is the new platform that’s providing a ray of hope by connecting past and present pet parents of rescue pets free of cost.

The platform boasts a streamlined process for finding a lost or rescued pet. Users only need to enter a few simple details like the type and breed of animal, microchip, ID number, city and state where the animal was given up or lost. Once all the required information is entered, the system searches the database for animals matching the description provided and displays the results.

Edgewater native, Connie Bekavac, is the mastermind behind this dynamic platform, which is a completely philanthropic effort. Bekavac created the company after years of adopting older cats and dogs and wondering why they had ever been available for adoption. She said: “I've always had a place in my heart for rescue pets and that's all I've ever had. I've often wondered why such an amazing dog was homeless. I've also heard many heartbreaking stories like an older person that's been put in a nursing home and the family dumps grandma's loving cat off at the pound and grandma is left with broken heart, not only missing her companion but worried that it was put down. So I created this platform to not only help mend broken hearts but also to answer the questions of the past and previous pet parents of rescue pets.”

But it’s not just about reconnecting past and present pet parents. Pet Parents’ Place also provides resources for pet adoption. The platform also provides resources for pet friendly spots online.

Although the service provided by Pet Parents Place is free of cost, the organization accepts donations to help support the ongoing needs of pet rescue organizations. For further information about Pet Parents’ Place or to search for a lost or rescued pet, visit: https://petparentsplace.com.
