Pilates Village is co-owned and operated by Stacy Hunter Celi and Joan Richert. Stacy owned Pilates Village for several years in Los Angeles, California before returning to her hometown of Louisville. They recently merged businesses and renovated Richert‘s studio, Pilates Bodies. They enthusiastically re-open on January 4th as “Pilates Village”, Louisville‘s premiere Pilates Studio!

Pilates one-on-one training sessions blend the art and science of human movement, while focusing on strength and balance for everyday life. “Finding balance is vital,” says the 7-month pregnant Stacy with her 3rd child. “I try to practice what I preach. Opening a new business with a 2 year old and 1 year old while pregnant isn‘t for the faint of heart…I have to find my own balance every day. Hopefully our studio will encourage and inspire people to practice Pilates at any age, stage or phase of life and actually enjoy the process.”

Pilates (“puh-LAH-tees”), was first started by Joseph Pilates who was born in Germany in 1880. As a child, he suffered from Asthma, Rickets and Rheumatic Fever. Pilates studied anatomy, Eastern and Western forms of exercise including Yoga, wrestling and acrobatics. Exercise became a way of life and a means of managing his health. Joseph said, “In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference, and in 30 you will have a whole new body.”

Make no mistake about it, getting one‘s physical body in shape takes work, however now you have an opportunity to discover how to get a jumpstart on meeting your health and wellness goals at www.pilatesvillage.com. The studio is well equipped with eleven Reformers, two Cadillac‘s, three Wunda Chairs and four Spring Boards and two Ladder Barrels.
