Ocala, Florida, United States of America – August 30th, 2017 - Schade’s newest release, AnthologyPERCEPTION, is a collection of some of his best-known work, including: If I Fail: What Doom Awaits the Children, Looking for God: Within the Kingdom of Religious Confusion, and The Demons of War are Persistent: A Personal Story of Prolonged PTSD.
Together, this trio weaves a compelling foundation of emotional turmoil with a never-extinguished human spark of hope for a narrative that captures the confusion and devastation of war and intolerance in people’s lives.
Author AW Schade directly confronted the horrors of war as a young Marine in his 1966-7 tour of Vietnam. These days, the former successful corporate executive wrestles with the questions that have burned deep inside for decades, seeking answers and trying to make sense of subjects that are more often than not senseless.
Schade’s eloquent prose, combined with a vivid recall of the horrors he faced in Vietnam gives a unique insight into the psychological landscape of a war. At the same time, they question why a loving God might allow his children to commit such acts of barbarity and depravity. Nowhere is this thought better expressed than in his story Looking for God: Within the Kingdom of Religious Confusion.
Schade’s first published book, The Demons of War Are Persistent, was soon noticed by Eric Newhouse, the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist, and has since been widely distributed in vet circles. Following his initial success, Schade went on to publish his other books., including Looking for God: Within the Kingdom of Religious Confusion, which brings to life the yoke of religious dogma and If I Fail, a short story exploring an elderly Vietnam vet’s struggle to reconcile the suppressed memories of war to save the lives of three children.
